Eleven-year-old Paisley Partridge is destined for greatness. But first, she has to survive Year Five. 

When Paisley is placed with suspicious newcomer Miss Wyatt instead of Mr Perkins—the only educator who truly recognizes her genius—her dream year becomes a nightmare. Now, Paisley must use all her considerable skills to uncover the dark secrets her new teacher is hiding. 

But Miss Wyatt isn’t the only problem in town. Shearwater Bay’s tourist attraction, the little penguins, are mysteriously vanishing. Naturally, Paisley and her best friend, Connor, are on the case to expose the truth—and perhaps secure a transfer into Mr Perkins’ class.
